He even put the stuffed animals in the crib! Too cute
So here is the start of the nursery!

Almost a new year

Well, Christmas has come and gone and now we have the new year ahead of us.  Our Christmas gift (along with birthday and welcome baby) from Dad and Karla was our crib/changing table combo and a glider with ottoman.  Bryan and I picked it up today and after unpacking all the pieces Bryan got called into work so the assembly will be put on hold for a few days.  The dogs are very curious about all this new furniture and will probably be more curious once its all together.  Once it is all up I will post pictures so you can see what the room looks like! In the mean time, here's one of the pups, being good little kids for a change!

Baby Update

We had our fourth appointment last Thursday.  We were hoping to find out what the baby is however, there was NO cooperation. We did get to see the baby wave and kick ALOT! The doctor also pointed out the different views of the head, the heart, the stomach and bladder.
I have another ultrasound in 3 weeks and hopefully the baby will cooperate then. If not then I guess we aren't meant to know what the baby is!
It seems we are already for our first married Christmas! Duke did not know what to think about the tree inside but he seems to be afraid of it now that it is decorated!!!  And well Daisy, she's used to it!
That's the latest update! Hopefully I get another one up before the next appointment... hard to say!

More updates

Well here we are almost into week 18!! If all goes as planned we should find out what the sex of Baby Wheeler is next Thursday!!!
The ladies at work did the Mexican version of guessing the baby's sex which was pretty funny. You lie down and they hold a needle on a thread over your belly. If it swings back and forth it is a boy, if it swings in a circle it's a girl.  Ours started as a circle then went back and forth... so either Baby Wheeler doesn't know what to be yet or wants to keep us in the dark a bit longer.
I'm hoping to get the baby's room organized and ready for the munchkin by January, and I'm very curious to see how the pups behave with that... I currently have a pack and play along with a car seat in the room and both Daisy and Duke keep sniffing them and looking around...maybe they know there is something missing still!!

Pup pictures!

Well, after the lovely snow we had, we were out of power from Saturday evening until Tuesday.  The dogs and I headed to mom's where there was power and the pups were having fun with Sadie.  Bryan stayed at the fire station which came in handy for when they got called out.
Thanksgiving was very nice, quiet and relaxing. I went to my mom's in the morning, we had linner around 3, which Bryan came for, and then we went home to relax on the couch!!
Below are pictures of the crazy pups in the snow!!!

First snow of the year

We got our first snow last night. It was mostly gone this morning but there is more coming!  Duke isn't too sure about anything falling from the sky but as usual Daisy still loves the snow! I'm hoping with the snow tomorrow I will be able to get photos or videos of the pups playing to post!

Things are going good with the pregnancy.  The rash and itch are gone but I'm still drinking the teas and washing with the drying soap to make sure it stays away! I really don't want that crap back!

So far no weird cravings or food aversions, which I guess is good.

More to come....

First Ultrasound

Today was another doctor appointment. The rash is 90% gone and took the itch with it so I'm quite excited!!! Because of the concerns with the rash and the fact that twins run in the family I was able to talk the doctor into an ultrasound!!!  The baby looks good according to the doctor so that is very good news!!  The head is on the right of the picture (which is actually the left side of my body) and then the arms and legs. Hopefully next month we can find out what we are having... boy or girl... but at least there is one!!!!

Moving right along

14 weeks and 1 day! Time is just flying by.

Luckily the rash is getting better, I'm able to sleep through the night so that is happiness, I will take the sleep while I can! Hard to say if the rash is gone for good or just for now but I will take what I can get!!

Duke likes to lay on my belly at night so we are afraid the baby will come out with Duke's paw print in his head. So far Daisy doesn't seem to notice. But I'm sure she will when we start getting baby furniture in the house. The poor princess will no longer be the baby... except maybe at the Vet's office!

PUPPP

UGH! So here we are 13.5 weeks along and I have what is called PUPPP... a rash that is typical in the 3rd trimester, and it only goes away when you give birth, if you're lucky... Its basically like poison oak all over your body - you scratch it and it spreads. Not very fun during this time. The doctors have yet to figure out any good cures and I have tried many home remedies such as pine tar soap, vinegar, teas and medicated lotions.... Most days are good, its the nights that kill me. Pretty soon I will be sleeping outside where it is 30 degrees - nice and cold... Here's hoping for a cure soon!

About us

Bryan and I've been together for almost 5 years now, married for 6 months. We have two Boston Terriers, Daisy and Duke and are expecting our first 2 legged child in May 2011. We are both very excited for this new addition, yet a little nervous to see how it all plays out. We got the second dog, Duke to keep Daisy company once we started having kids. Hopefully that crazy idea of mine actually works!! We shall see...
