Yard Work

Well, since the wind kept my dad and step-mom from visiting this weekend I figured it would be a good time to clean up the yard since it wasn't too hot.

My rosemary, roses and hedges weren't getting along so well so I thought I should separate them. I still need to tidy up the hedges but you can see the progress so far...

This area next to the tree and behind the horseshoe pit has never been used other than to store extra dirt. Looks like a good place for the rosemary, roses and gladiolas!
Lots of weeds and dirt... and as I kept digging big huge rocks. The backyard used to be the garage and driveway. Handy...

Rose number one on the left... He is clearly crowding the hedge.. or vice versa, I'm not sure. Rosemary is on the right, which you can't see as it has grown into the hedge
Two more roses are growing into the hedge on the right.
This is where I stopped for the day... you can't see the gladiolas but they are in front of the roses. I found they weren't buried deep enough before so they are pretty deep now.

I may have lost a lot of poppies in the move too but it is looking better! Next weekend I hope to shape the hedges... We will see how that turns out...
